Position Summary (new position)
The Systems Administrator is a Tier 2 support role that updates hardware and software packages, revises documentation, installs computer and networking systems, removes malware and mitigates security threats, monitors computer system backups, and prevents data corruption.
The role interfaces with all company departments concerning their technical and information needs and outside technology suppliers and vendors. Communication with all departments will be necessary to assess the IT needs of the company.
Knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365/Exchange, SharePoint Online, MS SQL Server, VMWare ESXi/VCenter, ERP, CRM, networking devices/services (including WAN/LAN, VPN) in addition to disaster recovery solutions.
Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance and support for incoming service requests and help desk e-emails, assuring appropriate and timely responses to these requests.

Record, track, and document service requests via the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to the final resolution.

Perform daily user management within Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.

Install and configure desktop and server operating systems and routine testing software for bug detection.

Plan and organize the maintenance of existing servers through repair, provisioning, periodic patch management of system software, and periodic replacement of hardware components.

Train or direct users on the correct use of software and hardware within the environment.

Monitor and administer backup and recovery solutions.

Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.

Work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Maintain VoIP infrastructure, ensuring proper maintenance and patching.

Assist in the configuration and ongoing monitoring of the local systems and networking infrastructure.

Work closely with senior administrators on infrastructure-wide projects (i.e., Automation and Cyber Security).
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a minimum of three (3) years of systems support experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash), for automation and task automation.

Must have one or more of the following certifications (Server+, Network+, or CCNA).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to explain technical issues to technical and nontechnical associates.

Hands-on ability to configure and support Windows Server 2012 – 2022, VMware ESXi/vCenter, and Exchange Online required.

Knowledge of Nutanix a plus.

Knowledge of Ivanti Endpoint Management a plus.

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Dynamics CRM, Dynamics GP, Acumatica, and EDI a plus.

Ability to lift 50lbs.
